Monopoly Roulette Casino Game Facts

Blaise Pascal invented the gamble during one of his experiments to create a perpetual motion device. The device was a failure, but the wheel fascinated the mathematicians of the era. Casinos adapted roulette as a high-roller game pretty quickly, and presented as a “game of the nobles.”

The wheel consisted of 37 numbers in that era too, and the “0” slot was the “casino’s number.” Mathematical analyses showed that the 0 slot always gave the advantage to casinos, and it was impossible to make a profit in the long run. This is still true – unless the wheel is rigged, there are no working strategies nor tactics. The casino always wins, no matter what.

During the introduction to the United States, casino owners decided to add another slot to the wheel: 00. This raised the house advantage and lowered the winning odds of the player even more. The wheels that contain double zeros (0 and 00) are known as American roulette to this date, and if there is only one 0, it is called European. Since your winning chances are much higher, it is advised to play European, not the American version.

How to Play Monopoly Roulette Casino Game?

The first thing you will see is a roulette table. The wheel is “hidden” at this point. You must start by placing a wager by clicking the table or dragging and dropping chips (Monopoly money) from the left side of the screen. The table can be viewed from 3 different angles; click the “eye” button to change your point of view. As you can see, there are lots of betting options available. Let’s take a closer look to the wagers:

  • Straight: There are numbers on top of the table, between 0 and 36. Placing a straight bet means betting on any of that numbers. This is the most paying option, but of course, the odds are very low.
  • Split: A wager on 2 horizontally adjacent numbers (i.e. 8 – 9).
  • Street: The same as split, but you bet on 3 horizontally adjacent numbers this time (i.e. 7 – 8 – 9).
  • Corner: A wafer on 4 numbers that meet at one corner (i.e. 31 – 32 – 34 – 35).
  • Double Street: The same as street, but you bet on 6 horizontally adjacent numbers this time (i.e. 16 – 17 – 18 – 19 – 20 – 21)

These are called “inside bets.” There are “outside bet” options too, which are:

  • Red/Black: As the name suggests, you bet on the color of the outcome.
  • Odd/Even: Your wager is about the outcome will be an odd or even number.
  • 1 to 18/ 19 to 36: You bet on the number will be in this range.
  • Dozen: Another range bet that the number will be in the chosen dozen (1st 12, 2nd 12, 3rd 12).

The paytable of these betting options is:

35 to 1

11 to 1

Corner

Double  Street

Odd/even

It is possible to wager on more than one option too. After determining your wager type and placing it, you can start the game by clicking the “spin” button. You will see the wheel spinning, and the outcome will be revealed in a matter of seconds. If you are lucky enough, you will get paid according to the paytable. You will be offered 2 options after a spin is concluded:

  • Repeat & Spin: Start another round with the same betting options and wager.
  • Double Up & Spin: Start another round with the same betting options but a double wager.
  • Back: Back to the start screen, where you can start a fresh round.

The Bonus Rounds Options

As we mentioned above, there is a special slot on the wheel, and it is represented by a “hot” sign. If the ball ends in this slot, the bonus round will begin. You will be taken to a second screen for the bonus game. There are 18 face-down cards on the screen, and you are asked to reveal 5 of them.

Each one contains a different prize: properties, cash, etc., just like in the board version of Monopoly. After revealing 5 cards, you will be offered a big cash prize. If you choose to accept, the round will end. If not, you will get to reveal 5 more cards and the offer will be made again until the last 2 cards. The maximum prize you can win during this round is 100 x total bet.

Betting Ranges

The betting range is in between 0.10 and 50.00 coins. You need to place at least 1.00 coin to be able to enter the game. The maximum you can place in total is 100.00 coins in the demo version. You get a balance of 1.000 complimentary credits for the free version of the game, and it is more than enough for hours of casual fun Monopoly Roulette.

Basic  Monopoly Roulette Strategies

As we mentioned above, there are no real working strategies; the casino always holds the advantage. However, some stakes have a higher probability than the others. Dozen bets is a fine example of this; the payout is 2 : 1, and the winning odds are quite high. If you don’t like to take risks, always go with the aforementioned option. Red/black and odd/even wager are safe choices too, but their payout is pretty low.

You will hear about lots of “systems” which “guarantees” a win in the long run – these are simply not true. The most famous systems are Labouchère and D'Alembert. Mathematical analyses showed that they have no effect. In the past, gamblers exploited the mechanics of the game to win, but the casinos made the necessary corrections and these exploits are not available anymore.

For example, in 1891, Charles Wells broke the bank in a Monte Carlo casino. There is even a song called “The Man Who Broke the Bank” about him. He did this by exploiting a physical flaw on roulette wheels, which allowed him to guess where the ball will land. This flaw is not available anymore.

For now, this is a game of luck, and your winning odds are nearly as same as the slot machines. The only way to predict the movements of the ball requires laser scanners and a computer to make the necessary calculations, and it is completely illegal.
